Pinot Noir sourced from Tumbarumba in the South West Slopes of Kosciuszko. Ben’s parents planted one of the first vineyards in the region in the early 1980’s. This fruit is sourced from an old school mate’s vineyard as sadly his parents old vineyard is not available.
The wine was made and treated very gently to ensure fine, elegant tannins and easy drinkability. 10% Whole bunch and 5% new French oak. Natural ferment, time on lees in old barriques prior to bottling.
Winemaking Notes.
10% Whole bunch & 90% whole berries, tipped into a fermenter and fermented naturally, plunged once a day for 15 days, to keep bright and fresh.
After 15 days it was pressed direct to barriques.
5% New French oak.
Malolactic ferment finished end of winter.
Matured for 6 months in oak prior to bottling.
No fining or stabilisation, however lightly filtered prior to bottling. Vegan Friendly.
Tasting Notes.
Lovely red colour, red fruits, spice and forest floor. Juicy freshness and elegance, balanced by fine supportive tannins to a long finish.
